Equity & Achievement

The Office of Equity and Achievement is an integral part of the Puyallup School District, influencing the development of responsible, contributing citizens for a diverse and changing world.

provide assistance to the superintendent, administration, and staff in meeting the needs of our diverse community; fulfill the mission of challenging all students to achieve their academic, creative, and physical potential; and provide resources and encouragement to staff and students to develop cultural competence. Responsibilities include serving as a liaison to staff and the community, following up on student harassment and discrimination incidents, and serving as district ombudsman.

The Puyallup School District has embarked on a journey to become a culturally responsive learning community. Through extensive professional development training, staff have had the opportunity to participate in cultural competency from book studies to REACH (Respecting Ethnic And Cultural Heritage) training, as well as focusing on closing the achievement/opportunity gap, which includes studying race and equity.

The Puyallup School District is committed to maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for ALL students and staff by continuing to focus on the our 'Welcoming Schools' initiative.
